RBCC Flood Response Day 5

Good morning, Y’all.

We hope everyone made it safe through the rain last night. Unfortunately, the consistent rain since Day 1, even in small amounts, has already proven to cause basements and vulnerable spaces to flood again. But the work continues, and today is likely the largest and most directed volunteer effort the city of Barre has seen yet. Please consider joining the Rainbow Response Team at Aldrich Library at 9:30 this morning for volunteering opportunities in our resilient little city, and again at noon at City Hall Park for another round of people power. The volunteers will be responding to folks that have signed up for help, so we know exactly where the need is.

Let’s talk about community needs. We have requests for items that have been difficult for those trapped in the city to find. The RBCC has purchased a small supply, with the limited budget we have, but your donation of these supplies or the money to purchase them is greatly appreciated.

WHAT DO WE NEED:

Toilet paper and paper towels

Razors, dental and other hygiene products

Take out containers or something similar (for people to take food home)

Plasticware, utensils

Backpacks and bags of any kind, for folks to load up with supplies

Cat litter

Baby formula and baby food

WHAT DO WE HAVE:

Plenty of water

Food- canned, fresh and prepared

Clothing, socks, some shoes

Linens

COMMUNITY- Come say hi and visit with the Team

PEOPLE POWER- Need some help cleaning, hauling? Let us know.

LOVE- It’s why we’re here

Folks, I want to be very clear here: the resources we have at The RBCC are for EVERYONE. We do not discriminate in our mission to build robust community or aide the people of Earth. If you are suffering, if you are hungry, if you have a need, we are here for YOU.

Thank you all, and see you out there!
